Who goes to see thriller film?
Many different aged people tend to see thriller films, but this is depending on what it may be. Inception for example is rated a 12A movie, but there are other thriller films that may have a higher age rating, due too the content of the movie. For example the film Panic room is rated a 15 as there is high levels of violence, alcohol and drug abuse and bad language.
Many people go to see thrillers as you have all sort of different thrillers. This means thrillers will hit many target audiences. This is good as thrillers are a popular choice with people as you can get all age thrillers and all different kind of thrillers (action, psycho etc)
Usually a thriller has a plot and action. A thriller usually has a age rating of 12 or above this is because there maybe violence or sometimes it can be hard to understand (Chatroom & Inception) A thriller is usually aimed towards teenagers as they like action, films which are based around them such as there every day life. (Chat room)
In a trailer the film likes to show the audience what is happening but not to give everything away. A good example of this is Harry Potter Deathly Hallows Part 2. This trailer left very much a cliff hanger making you wanting to know what happens also in this trailer it shows a bit which is not in the book. this is significant for the target audience as it means people who have read the book and have now seen this want to know this extra bit.
Many people go to see thrillers as there is usually a gap between when thriller movies that are released. This means compared to other films thrillers are less common, meaning people enjoy seeing them when they are released. An Example of this is Shutter Island which was the only thriller released in that year at the cinema.
