Opening of Casino Royale's Opening Scene
The films opening sequence used the black and white effect to make it look old. The reason the film company have done this is because it is a re-boot, so we think the scene has taken place in the past. After a couple of minutes watching we then are introduced to the main character of the film, James Bond (Daniel Craig). This is typical of most Action/Adventure films, as the audience is usually introduced early to the character. The bad guy in this scene then asks a question which is followed up by as flash back. This is great as it is telling the audience as to how James Bond got to where he is now. It makes the whole opening credits seem as if its a film inside a film. Mise-en-scen is also used to make the scene more dramatic, for example guns and gun magazines are used to make the scene more realistic and therefore adding to the drama of the scene. the scene ends with a quick reference to the flash back, with the traditional scene played in all James Bond movies, when he shoots into the camera. This is also when the theme tune starts playing and the color comes into the film. This is a successful opening sequence as it constantly keeps the audience on the edge of there seat.
